York City is known as the best restaurant city in the world for its variety,
hospitality and service. From the classics to the cutting edge, the trend
continues with several new and notable restaurants opening in the past
year.
Top restaurateur Steve Hanson opened several new restaurants in the past
year heralding the industry-wide confidence that led to 183 new openings
in New York. Three newcomers include the eagerly anticipated Blue Fin
in the flagship W Times Square Hotel, the 130-seat modern Italian Fiamma
Osteria and Dos Caminos with its authentic Mexican flavors.
Times Square welcomed David Emils Noche, a four-level bar, restaurant
and dancing destination that transports guests to a night out reminiscent
of sleek and sexy hotspots in Buenos Aires, Havana or Rio.
Joining Danny Meyers pantheon of top-ranked restaurants, Blue Smoke
pays homage to his St. Louis roots with an urban take on traditional barbecue
in the Gramercy district. Meanwhile, Ninth Avenue heats up Hells
Kitchen with a veritable plethora of edibles from the tiniest ethnic eateries
to Marseille , a theater district brasserie featuring French Mediterranean
cuisine.
The new Copacabana captures the glamour of a sophisticated 1940s
supper club with its unique Art Deco décor. The two-tiered club
features a sweeping dance floor encircled with palm trees and a 600 square
foot stage.
